Global social media operations
ILRI · CGIARLead daily publishing across five channels for an international research centre. Built the content calendar and the monthly reporting loop that decides what gets made next.
I get serious research heard by the people it was written for.
Social strategy, live coverage and science storytelling for institutions working on food systems, climate and health. Strategy on Monday, camera in hand by Thursday.
Cue 01 About
I run the day-to-day of the International Livestock Research Institute's global social presence — five platforms, a research centre's worth of science, and an audience that runs from donors and policymakers to farmers and journalists. Most of the work is translation: taking a livestock genetics result or a One Health milestone and turning it into something a person will actually stop scrolling for.
I got here through radio. Before ILRI I wrote and voiced campaigns at Radio Africa, pitching omnichannel work to global brands and learning that a message either lands in the first three seconds or it doesn't land at all. That still shapes how I write.
What I bring to a contract is range. I can build the strategy and then go shoot it myself — cover an event on-site, file the same day, and hand back reporting that shows what actually moved. I've worked that way at COP30, NYC Climate Week, the UN Food Systems Forum and the Africa Food Systems Forum.
I hold a BA in Journalism from USIU-Africa and I'm completing a Postgraduate Diploma with the Chartered Institute of Marketing. I also serve as Communications Chair on the Princeton in Africa alumni board.
Cue 02 What I do
Channel strategy, content calendars and daily publishing across X, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube — held to your brand guidelines, with monthly performance reporting you can take to a board.
On-site social, photography and same-day filing from summits, launches and field visits. Booth planning, speaker support and media liaison included.
Working directly with scientists and programme leads to turn technical work into threads, short-form video, explainers and launch copy that a non-specialist audience will follow.
Concepting, copywriting, voiceover, graphics and short-form video — from a single announcement to a multi-channel campaign with a run of show behind it.

Cue 05 Work with me
Available for short engagements and retained work — remote, or on the ground in Nairobi and across East Africa.
What you're launching or covering, your timeline, and who you need to reach. That's enough for me to come back with an approach and a rate.
